Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system. A number of priority issues of public activity were put on the agenda.

The floor was first given to Chairwoman of the Mejlis D.Gulmanova, who informed about the activities ongoing to further improve the national legislative and legal framework in accordance with modern requirements.

The report included information that the Mejlis is currently working to prepare drafts of a new version of the Civil Code of Turkmenistan, and the Law of Turkmenistan “On the Cultural Heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy”. Along with this, draft laws are prepared to amend and supplement the Sanitary Code of Turkmenistan, the Laws of Turkmenistan “On Physical Culture and Sports”, “On the State Scientific and Technical Policy”, and “On Seed Production”.

Consistent steps are taken to develop constructive cooperation with international organizations and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties. The credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola to Turkmenistan were accepted in the Mejlis. The deputies of the national Parliament participated in a training seminar and a meeting held by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the United States Agency for International Development jointly with the relevant government institutions of our country.

People’s deputies also speak at events and in the media in order to explain to the public the key directions of Turkmenistan’s state policy, the socio-economic transformations ongoing in the Homeland, the essence and content of the Laws adopted, and the significance of the creative heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to carry out effective work to further update the country’s legislative system and prepare new draft laws.
