On May 23, 2025, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan meets with Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People's Republic of China, as part of his working visit to the People's Republic of China.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the unanimous adoption of the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, initiated by Turkmenistan, entitled «2025 - The Year of International Peace and Trust» and the third time recognizing the legal status of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan. At the same time, the importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality, aimed at developing equal cooperation with all countries, trusting dialogues and peaceful initiatives has emphasized.

The Turkmen side has noted historical roots, cultural, and spiritual traditions connects the nations of the two countries through the ancient Great Silk Road, and nowadays thanks to the efforts of the Heads of State in political-diplomatic, commercial-economic, cultural-humanitarian relations have successfully developed and enriched with new content based on mutual respect, trust and equality.

During the dialogues, cooperation between the two States in the field of international law plays a significant role in the further development of large-scale, equal and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China. These relations contribute to further strengthening friendship and fraternity between peoples and supporting inter-state relations through parliamentary diplomacy has accented.

Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated to XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation via online on May 22-23, 2025.

This Congress has the motto «Planet Earth: Living in Harmony with Nature». Nevsky International Ecological Congress is organizing since 2008 in St. Petersburg. 

In its platform discusses issues such as strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation in ensuring environmental safety and harmonizing environmental legislation of countries, promoting healthy lifestyles, improving educational activities and inform the population in this area, and establishing an international agenda related to environmental safety policy in cooperation with specialized UN agencies.

During the Ecological Congress, sessions held on topics such as food security under the faced climate change, cooperation for the future in the Caspian Sea, and the ecology of large cities.

The representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan had a floor and noted our country’s work carried out to ensure the ecological well-being, including the positive initiatives it is putting forward in the field of water diplomacy.

As part of the working visit to the People's Republic of China, Delegation led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held comprehensive meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Zhao Leji.

During the meeting, the significance of the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions «2025 - The Year of International Peace and Confidence» and «The Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan» by the initiatives of Turkmenistan was emphasized, and the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the People's Republic of China for supporting these initiatives of Turkmenistan.

The mutual support of Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China for their initiatives on the stage of the United Nations and the importance of the friendly relations established at the highest level were particularly emphasized.

In this regard, special attention has paid to the results of bilateral agreements reached in various fields during the meeting of the Leaders of the two countries during the visit of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China. By this, the issues of cooperation at the parliamentary level in the «Central Asia - China» format, as well as the establishment of the «Central Asia - China» Inter-Parliamentary Council in the future and holding a joint forum «Turkmenistan - China: Women and Youth» were discussed.

During the conversation, the importance of improving the work of parliamentary friendship groups, intensifying relations between related committees, young and women parliamentarians, and joint activities will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries aimed at holding meetings and conferences at the parliamentary level was emphasized.

At the meeting, the host side expressed their readiness to further expanding the scope of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China in such areas as science-education, healthcare, and agriculture.

Ms. D. Gulmanova expressed confidence that the meetings and talks during the visit will contribute to further strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary relations. She also stated that Turkmenistan highly values ​​inter-parliamentary relations with the People's Republic of China and is ready to further developing them in all areas.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan renowned her hope to participating the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Mr. Zhao Leji in international events to be held in our country in honor of the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality will be celebrated in the «2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust».

On May 22, 2025, Delegation led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan paid visit to the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation in Beijing as part of a working visit to the People's Republic of China.

They have informed on the work of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation to improve children's health at the Center.

Deputy Chairperson of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Ms. Shen Beili has participated in the international conference entitled «Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for the Sake of Children » was held in Arkadag city on the occasion of the 4th Anniversary of the establishment of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship in March of this year.

During the acquaintance with the work of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, host side highly evaluated the work of the the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship in Turkmenistan and emphasized the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the future.
