On September 19, 2023, the Turkmen delegation led by Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova took part in the first meeting of the leaders of the Central Asia and the Republic of Korean Parliament held in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

At the bilateral meetings held on this day by the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, an exchange of views took place in the field of expanding bilateral cooperation on developing the principles of mutual respect, equality and goodwill between two friendly countries and expanding bilateral cooperation on various sectors of the economy.

During the meetings, it was stated that in the result of the development of inter-parliamentary relations, political-diplomatic, trade-economic, energy relations, relations in the digital system, cultural and humanitarian relations between countries, as well as large investment projects envisaged for implementation, will be legislatively ensured.

The parties noted with satisfaction the active development of relations between parliamentarians of the two countries, creating the opportunity to bring inter-parliamentary cooperation to a new level, which is an important area of ​​bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the turkmen side put forward a proposal to hold a second meeting of the leaders of the parliaments of Central Asia and Korea in 2024 in Turkmenistan, and this proposal was stated in the joint Declaration.
