On August 8, 2025, at the final plenary session of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, in the National Tourist Zone «Awaza», the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan made a report on the results of the parliamentary forum on the topic «Charting the Course: Advancing the Awaza Programme of Action for LLDCs», organized within the framework of this international forum.

The Parliamentary Forum, which was held with a broad representation of the world's states and international organizations (about 100 parliamentarians from more than 40 countries), became one of the important platforms for exchanging best practices in the field of lawmaking and parliamentary work methods. The main goal of the Forum is to enhance the role of parliamentarians in the implementation of the Awaza Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries for 2024-2034.

This Forum played a significant role in addressing important issues on the global agenda, strengthening friendship between countries and peoples, expanding effective cooperation in the interests of common prosperity, enhancing the role of parliamentary diplomacy, and exchanging mutual experience in parliamentary and legislative work.

At the Parliamentary Forum sections devoted to the topics such as: From Vienna to Awaza: Unresolved Challenges, Lessons Learned and Way forward; Shaping and Strengthening a Multilateral Trading System that Delivers for All in the LLDCs; Building Peace, Trust and Accountable Governance: Enablers of Sustainable Development in LLDCs, the parliamentarians exchanged views on a wide range of issues aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. They got acquainted with the work carried out within the framework of Turkmenistan’s strategy «Revival of the Great Silk Road», which was approved thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and is reaching new heights of development under the wise leadership of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

The forum presented valuable proposals and opinions on the scientific substantiation of the political and economic significance of international transport and communication corridors. ­Ways to unite the efforts of national parliaments in ensuring peace and mutual trust, achieving sustainable development goals were discussed.

At the final session of the Parliamentary forum, a Parliamentary message to the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was adopted.

The participants of the parliamentary forum expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the hospitality and cordiality of the Turkmen people on the Caspian coast, for the opportunities and conditions created for holding the Forum at a high organizational level.

On August 7, 2025, in the National Tourist Zone «Avaza», a meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan Ms. Alenka Suhadolnik within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

During the meeting, the guest expressed gratitude to the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the warm hospitality shown in national traditions, on the turkmen land with a glorious past, an era of new Revival. And also congratulated on the high level of organization of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and relevant events held within its framework in the National Tourist Zone «Avaza».

At the meeting was noted the important role of the transport and logistics sector in the development of cooperation between the two countries. The head of the national Parliament of our country noted the work being carried out on modernization, developing the transport and logistics system, improve legislation in this area, and also significance of international documents to which Turkmenistan has acceded and adopted laws.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects for further development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, and also cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and tourism spheres.

It was noted that Turkmenistan, recognized as a state committed to the principles of peace-loving and positive Neutrality in international relations, enjoys broad support for its initiatives of universal significance. It was noted that both countries support each other's initiatives within the framework of major international organizations, and mutually beneficial cooperation takes on an active character. Confidence was expressed in the further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan invited representatives of the parliament of the Republic of Slovenia to take part in international events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, celebrated in 2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust, including parliamentary events.

Сегодня Президент Сердар Бердымухамедов встретился с Президентом Республики Армения Ваагном Хачатуряном, находящимся с визитом в нашей стране для участия в Третьей Конференции ООН по развивающимся странам, не имеющим выхода к морю.

Поблагодарив лидера дружественной страны за принятое приглашение на международный форум, проводимый в Туркменистане совместно с ООН, глава государства отметил, что его участие в столь важном мероприятии, организуемом раз в десять лет, свидетельствует о придаваемом большом значении деятельности, направленной на устойчивое развитие РСНВМ.

Выразив признательность за приглашение принять участие в международной Конференции, Президент Ваагн Хачатурян подчеркнул её высокий организационный уровень и значение в укреплении взаимодействия между развивающимися странами, не имеющими выхода к морю.

Собеседники с удовлетворением констатировали поступательное развитие двустороннего сотрудничества, основанного на принципах равноправия, взаимного уважения и доверия.

За последние годы отношения между Туркменистаном и Республикой Армения вышли на качественно новый уровень. Наглядным тому подтверждением являются регулярные взаимные визиты на высшем уровне, переговоры и консультации по различным аспектам межгосударственного партнёрства.

В ходе встречи подчёркивалось, что торгово-экономическое сотрудничество является важным вектором межгосударственных туркмено-армянских отношений. При этом особое значение придаётся налаживанию новых направлений партнёрства и расширению номенклатуры экспортно-импортных товаров.

Наряду с этим собеседники подчеркнули важность укрепления двустороннего культурно-гуманитарного партнёрства, отметив наличие большого потенциала для взаимодействия и обмена опытом в областях науки, образования, культуры и искусства.

В завершение встречи Президент Туркменистана Сердар Бердымухамедов и Президент Республики Армения Ваагн Хачатурян обменялись наилучшими пожеланиями, выразив уверенность, что межгосударственное сотрудничество, выстраиваемое на принципах взаимоуважения и доверия, будет и впредь успешно развиваться на благо народов двух стран.

Сегодня Президент Сердар Бердымухамедов встретился с Президентом Демократической Республики Сан-Томе и Принсипи Карлушем Мануэлем Вила-Новой, прибывшим в нашу страну для участия в Третьей Конференции ООН по развивающимся странам, не имеющим выхода к морю.

Тепло поприветствовав высокого гостя, глава государства поблагодарил за принятие приглашения участвовать в представительном Форуме, проходящем на туркменском побережье Каспийского моря и выразил уверенность, что этот визит будет плодотворным и откроет новую страницу в истории межгосударственных отношений.

Выразив глубокую признательность за приглашение и оказанное на туркменской земле гостеприимство, высокий гость подчеркнул значение проводимого в Авазе представительного международного Форума, открывающего новые возможности для устойчивого развития развивающихся стран, не имеющих выхода к морю, и их интеграции в международные экономические отношения.

Как отмечалось в ходе встречи, Туркменистан поддерживает дружественные отношения с зарубежными государствами на основе правового статуса нейтралитета, трижды признанного Организацией Объединённых Наций. Констатировалась заинтересованность нашей страны в сотрудничестве с африканскими странами.

– Мы выступаем за активное взаимодействие не только на двусторонней основе, но и в рамках авторитетных международных организаций, прежде всего Организации Объединённых Наций. Учитывая географическое положение и туристический потенциал вашего островного государства, в этом направлении необходимо проводить определённую работу, сказал Президент Сердар Бердымухамедов.

Отметив, что в ходе визита высокая делегация Демократической Республики Сан-Томе и Принсипи сможет ознакомиться с экономическим потенциалом, производственными и экспортными возможностями Туркменистана, глава государства подтвердил готовность туркменской стороны оказать всемерную поддержку при наличии конкретных предложений по налаживанию взаимовыгодного сотрудничества в будущем.

В завершение встречи Президент Сердар Бердымухамедов и Президент Карлуш Мануэль Вила-Нова обменялись взаимными добрыми пожеланиями и выразили уверенность в том, что сегодняшние переговоры создадут прочную основу для углуб­ления отношений между двумя странами, а также будут способствовать укреплению международного сотрудничества в рамках глобальных инициатив.
