Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the session of the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian states, held in the city of Dushanbe of the Republic of Tajikistan «Water, air, environmental security are the basis for the sustainable development of the region».

In a speech at the session B.Myradova, the chairperson of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan for Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy, noted the large-scale activities being carried out in our country to protect the environment, effectively use natural resources and transition to a «green» economy. She noted that under the wise leadership of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ensuring environmental security, mitigating the impact of climate change, and achieving sustainable development goals are among the priorities of the state policy.

Also, was emphasized the importance of national strategies and international initiatives in developing renewable energy sources, reducing methane emissions and protecting the environment. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan's activities in this area are aimed at ensuring environmental well-being and enhancing international cooperation.

At the end of the session, the participants emphasized their commitment to fulfilling international commitments to protect the environment and making a worthy contribution to solving global ecological problems.

Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the session of the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian states «Economic Integration, Sustainable Development and Expansion of Regional Cooperation» held in the city of Dushanbe of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The participants of the meeting noted the importance of developing economic cooperation between the Central Asian states, creating favorable conditions for attracting investments, and effectively using transport and logistics opportunities. Special attention was also paid to the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in ensuring sustainable economic development in the region. In this regard, was emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in the legislative work of parliaments, improving the legal framework aimed at developing economic relations, and supporting mutually beneficial initiatives.

In a speech at the meeting, a representative of our country's National Parliament noted that in Turkmenistan, the state is intensifying work on environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, rational use of water resources, the development of a competitive innovative economy, the transition to a circular economy, the introduction of digital systems in all sectors, and the development of human capital through positive initiatives.

At the end of the conference, it was noted that the new and concrete proposals put forward in the speeches of the representatives of the fraternal states, as well as the positive experiences implemented at the regional level, were of great importance to the participants. It was expressed confidence that this high-level forum will be of great importance in ensuring sustainable economic development in the future and in bringing friendly and fraternal relations between peoples to a new level.

The participants of the meeting noted the important significance of the forum in strengthening peace, ensuring regional security and sharing experiences and ideas in developing parliamentary diplomacy.

In a speech the chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, M.Kulyyev, emphasized that the issues on the agenda of the conference are of great importance for the future of Central Asia, in this regard, based on the legal status of permanent Neutrality of our country and the peace-loving foreign policy pursued by our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the resolutions adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on energy and transport transit routes, strengthening peace and mutual trust, in particular the Resolution «Central Asia - a Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation», are providing a positive impetus to strengthen the international legal framework for bringing political, diplomatic, economic and cultural cooperation between the countries of the region to a new level.

The participants of the forum noted the importance of currently combining efforts within the framework of cooperation in this format to ensure peace and security, as well as ecological well-being, strengthen the legal basis of cooperation, create and expand transport corridors, implement investment projects, and ensure access to energy resources. And also was expressed confidence that the forum would make a significant contribution to peace, sustainable development, and further strengthening friendly and fraternal relations between peoples in the region. 

On October 29, 2026, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan within the framework of the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian states, held in the Republic of Tajikistan, in accordance with the program, participated in the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Ismoil Somoni at the «Dostluk» square.
